Our church’s Board of Trustees has awarded Belyea Scholarships for the fall semester to Kristen Deiley and Tyler Rodenberger. Kristen is the daughter of Deb Wakefield and granddaughter of Linda and Duane Wakefield. Tyler is the son of Beth Austin.

Kristen will be entering her junior year at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, and is majoring in communication arts and minoring in Spanish.

Tyler will be entering his junior at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and he is majoring in computer science and minoring in music.
The Belyea Scholarship is awarded most springs to children and/or grandchildren of church members, or adults seeking higher education college courses.
The scholarship is named for Arline Belyea, who passed away in 1984. She was a child of the Great Depression and left school to go to work. She was forced into an early retirement because of chronic lung disease. In her later years, Arline developed a love of music and an appreciation of the medical profession. She developed a renewed faith thanks to visits from the pastor and members of the congregation of the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church.
Arline’s husband established a memorial fund to assist students of music, medicine, and the ministry.
Congratulations to Kristen and Tyler!
