There were two uplifting and spiritual Christmas celebrations at our church on Christmas Eve.

The 10 a.m. service concluded the Advent-long lessons from the book, “All Creation Waits” with Pastor Kathleen once again drawing vivid of how animals prepare and live through winter to our own preparations of finding the light through darkness.

Carol Hubbard’s beautiful mural reminded us of all the lessons we had learned. Search for the animals in the image above.

The morning service was also filled with special music arranged by Choir Director Faith York involving the choir and musician friends Linda Soares (bassoon), Elena Henry (flute), and Tyler Rodenberger (guitar).

The evening service began with singing carols outside around a firepit (provided by Dotty and Rod Frey), followed by a traditional Christmas service in the sanctuary.

The service was led by Pastor Kathleen, her family reading Christmas scripture, piano playing by Mark Braun, violin playing by Camille Braun, and the Advent prayer and lighting of the Advent Wreath by the Jamieson family.

Keeping with tradition, the service ended with the singing of “Silent Night” by candlelight.

Thank you, also, to Sharlyn Andrews for providing refreshments after both services.
