Sunrise Service, April 4, 2010, at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth.
He is risen!
Members of the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church and the Church of the Nazarene joined other members of the Greater Portland community for an Easter Sunrise Service at Two Lights, beginning at 5:45 a.m.
Throughout the service, the sky over the ocean transformed from grays and dark blues to pastels of pink, yellow and orange. And within minutes of the final prayer and hymn, the sun creeped above the horizon, transforming itself into many shapes before streaming the morning’s first rays of light. It was a joyous way to celebrate the first hours of Easter morning.
