Jo Stewart will be offering a variety of Asian cuisine at an Asian Food Festival at the church on Nov. 19.

Asian theme on Nov. 19

Stephen Bither and Jo Stewart have organized a special church supper for Saturday, Nov. 19, focusing on a wonderful variety of Asian cuisine. Unlike the traditional monthly bean supper, this Asian Food Festival will have only one seating, at 5:30 p.m., and all food will be provided by the hosts — no pot luck.

Jo is a native of Singapore and she has planned a variety of dishes from Malaysia, China and Southeast Asia. Other cooks who will assist Jo will present food from Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Jo and Stephen have organized this food festival to celebrate the many contributions people from Asia have made to the Cape Elizabeth community, with a focus on sharing their foods and cultures.

There will be a $10 charge for adults and $7 for seniors and children under 12. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the United Methodist Church relief efforts in Asia.
