Thank you, volunteers!
The church’s annual Jolly Snowman Christmas Fair enjoyed a steady flow of visitors on Dec. 3, but the success of the fair was all the volunteers who supported the fair in so many ways.
Thank you to everyone who took part in all of the fair preparations, who baked cakes, pies, breads, cookies and brownies, who took turns helping visitors at all of the specialty tables, who helped prepare and serve the luncheon, and who spent hours after the fair cleaning up the Narthex and Sunshine Room.
And a special thanks to Fair coordinator Gail Parker, Silent Auction coordinator Jaymie Chamberlin, Luncheon coordinator Terry Keezer and Wreath coordinator Shirley Maxwell.
It was a festive day at the fair, starting with hot cider being served by the Rev. Ruth Morrison to anyone entering the front door. Then came tables filled with homemade crafts and decorations, comforting knit items, cookies, candies, cakes and pies. The lobster roll/grilled hot dog luncheon provided a great break for all visitors and volunteers and the scent of fresh pine wafting out of the wreath room was, yes, heavenly.
And thank you to Betty Jane Shreve for offering a table of treasured items belonging to Nancy Johnson, our dearly missed church member who passed away last spring. Nancy’s and BJ’s crafts and special home-crafted items were always a big part of the Jolly Snowman Fair.
Only 51 weeks until next year’s Jolly Snowman Fair: Dec. 1, 2017!
