Rev. Collins’ first service: July 9

The Rev. Casey Collins will lead her first service and preach for the first time at the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 9 at both the 8 and 10 a.m. services.

Before her Cape assignment, Rev. Collins served the United Methodist Church in Milford, New Hampshire for the past two years. She previously has served United Methodist churches in Lewiston, Gray and on Peaks Island.

Rev. Collins, who was introduced to the congregation at the July 2 service, replaces the Rev. Ruth Morrison, who retired on June 30 after 45 years in ministry.

On Tuesday, July 11, there will be an open house/pot luck supper at the home of Margaret and Mark Braun for everyone to meet Rev. Collins in a more relaxed setting. The Brauns live at 34 Hunts Point Toad in Cape Elizabeth and the open house will begin at 5:30 p.m. If you can, bring a dish to pass.
