Greeting summer and each other

For the first time since 2008, our church held a “Beginning of Summer” picnic after the Sunday morning service on June 3.  Even though the weather was a little cool and forced some picnic goers to eat inside, it was a festive time and led one church member to say, “We should be doing this every spring — or even more often than that.”

With hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, salads, desserts and other picnic fare, it was a time to reacquaint with each other after the long winter months and dreary early spring.

Thank you to everyone who contributed food and helped to set up beforehand and clean up afterward. It was truly a church family event.
