A celebration with dancing
Our Easter Sunday service ended with the singing of “Lord of the Dance”. Before the congregation joined in, Pastor Casey Collins invited everyone to celebrate the Resurrection and “party” by dancing in the aisles. Many did!
The service began with with a passionate talk by Mary (Jaymie Chamberlin), remembering her son’s birth and telling what it was like to see him die on the cross.
That was followed by a procession of flowers to the altar while the congregation sang “Christ the Lord Has Risen Today”.
Preston Stewart provided inspiring scripture readings.
Pastor Casey had a good audience and full attention for her Children’s Story.
During Sunday School the children, with help from Carol Hubbard and Mariah Parker, decorated and dyed eggs.
Throughout the service, our choir, under Faith York’s direction, was awe-inspiring — as always.
For Pastor Casey, it was her last Easter service as a minister, before her retirement in June.
After the service, the children were treated to an indoor Easter Egg Hunt.
The Easter service was also the formal debut of Arabella Labreck with her parents Mariah and George and great-grandmother Gail Parker. Arabella was born on April 9.
