A memorial service will be held at our church this Saturday, August 29, at 10 a.m. for Jane Ives, the wife of Bishop Cliff Ives for 68 years. Cliff and Jane first arrived at our church in 1962 (picture) when Cliff was appointed to be our minister while still a student at the Boston University of Theology.

Cliff and Jane were with us until 1968, at which time plans were developed to build our current church.

Jane passed away on July 26 at age 87.

Visitation will be at Hobbs Funeral Home on Friday, August 28 from 4-7 p.m., 230 Cottage Road in South Portland.

For Saturday’s memorial service, we are expecting many guests. For members of our congregation who are planning to attend, if possible, please park at the Cape Town Hall and walk the two-tenths of a mile back to the church. Our parking lot will be filled.
