Preparing pies for the Root Cellar

On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 22, members of the Cape Elizabeth UMC’s Middle School Youth Group gathered with youth from other area Methodist churches to make Thanksgiving pies for The Root Cellar.

Joining Rev. Ruth Morrison from our church were Mariah Higley, Dana Dufresne-Bonoff and Dana’s friend Lily.

Working in the kitchen at the Peoples UMC in South Portland, the group prepared 15 pies that were delivered to The Root Cellar.

The Root Cellar is an organization in Portland that “meets the physical and spiritual needs of inner-city youth and their families in Portland’s East End communities. Click here for more information, The Root Cellar.
