New series under way

Rev. Jim Young has begun a new series of Adult Education classes for each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Sunshine Room.

The topic for this series is “The Beatitudes for Today.”

As with all of Jim’s classes, it is worthwhile to attend all sessions, but it is not necessary to have attended previous ones to enjoy future ones. This series will run for eight weeks, ending on Nov. 4. Each discussion will be on Sundays at 9 a.m. in the Sunshine Room.

The upcoming topics of discussion:

• Oct. 14: BLessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
• Oct. 21: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
• Oct. 28: Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
• Nov. 4: Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
