Celebrate Jesus’ birth on Christmas Eve
There will be two services at the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church on Christmas Eve, at 6 and 11 p.m.
The 6 p.m. service will be the Family Service, making it possible for young children to return home shortly after 7 p.m. The service will feature the traditional Christmas pageant, at which Nicole, Benjamin, Ryan and Nick Tammaro will be the Holy Family.
Benjamin will be Baby Jesus this Christmas, following the role his brother Ryan took on in 2010. Ryan will have another role this Christmas.
The 6 p.m. service will also include the singing of “Silent Night” by candlelight.
The 11 p.m. service will be the Holy Night Communion service, complete with the music, meaning and contemplation of the night. A candlelight “Silent Night” also will be sung at the 11 o’clock service.
Please join us for one or both of these services.
After Sunday’s service, there was a Cookie Exchange, with members of the congregation swapping cookies and recipes.
Meanwhile, in Sunday School, there was some creative work going on with the construction of gingerbread houses, using graham crackers.
Merry Christmas!
