Cooling off the crowds
With perfect early-summer weather and big crowds, there’s no reason to question why our church’s Root Beer Float stand at Cape Elizabeth’s Family Fun Day was such an overwhelming success.
Organizer Jim Tammarro reports that sales of soda and ice cream brought in a profit of over $500, the best Fun Day the church has enjoyed in six years.
The profits also were the result of 10 cases of Capt’n Eli’s soda being donated by the Shipyard Brewing Company and donations from church members taking care of the purchase of ice cream, cones and cups.
The Root Beer Floats were still the main attraction at this year’s festivities, but floats also were available with Capt’n Eli’s Blueberry, Strawberry and Orange soda. The choices made for an even more complete afternoon of summer enjoyment.
Thank you to Jim and all of his volunteers for making this fund-raising venture another capital-letter Success!
