On a Father’s Day Sunday morning, with the rising sun reminding us that summer has arrived and we’re fortunate enough to claim this radiant seacoast as our homes, our church celebrated 14 decisions of faith that affirmed commitments for life.
Eight young adults received their Confirmations and six others accepted the responsibilities of becoming members of the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church during the 10 a.m. service on June 16.
Confirmation into adulthood was bestowed upon Preston Stewart, Katherine Connelly, Nathaniel Chatfield, Mariah Parker, Lydia Ingalls, Eric Parker, Megan Connelly, and Richard Jacob Wilson by the Rev. Ruth Morrison.
Those becoming new members of our church and being introduced to the congregation by Lay Leader Steve Hill included Sherrie and Philip Kaminsky, Seth Hennessey, Anita Davidson, Jennifer Chatfield and Natalie Underdown.
Following the service, the congregation celebrated the commitments of Confirmation and membership at a salad luncheon. Many members contributed salads for everyone to enjoy and share and Kathie Hackett once again baked and decorated a cake to commemorate this special occasion.
