Nancy and Joel Marsden listen to members of the church and friends sing Christmas carols at the Scarborough Veterans’ Home.
Music and fellowship
Members of our church, friends and two Girl Scout Troops spent a few hours on Dec. 20 spreading the spirit of Christmas with carols and fellowship to residents of the Veterans’ Home in Scarborough, the Village Crossing Assisted Living Center in Cape Elizabeth, and two individual homes.
It was a joyful evening for the carolers and for those to whom the carolers sang.
When the group stopped at the Veterans’ Home, the focus of attention was Joel Marsden and his wife Nancy. Joel, a former member of the Air Force, has been a long-time member of our church, including being its head usher for many years. Joel is now a resident of the Veterans’ Home.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the caroling and to Lay Leader Steve Hill for making the arrangements for making this special evening possible.
