Spreading Christmas Spirit
A group of 17 members of our church and friends continued the church’s tradition of going Christmas caroling the week before Christmas, going to the Maine Veterans’ Home, The Landing at Cape Elizabeth, and to the home of a church member who is recovering from hip surgery.
At the Veterans’ Home we gathered around long-time church member and former lead usher Joel Marsden and his wife Nancy for the singing of “Joy to the World”, “Silent Night”, “Jingle Bells”, and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” while some of the other veterans joined in with the singing.
At the Cape Elizabeth Landing, resident and church member Lou Peiffer joined with the group for the singing of a half dozen carols, finishing with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.
The final stop for the caroling caravan was in South Portland at the home of long-time church member Kathie Hackett who is recovering nicely from her hip surgery.
After the caroling, everyone returned to the church for pizza and a sharing of stories from the festive evening.
Thank you to all who participated!
