Our church’s Joel Marsden passed away on Jan. 1 at the Maine Veterans’ Home. He was 78. Joel began attending our church in the late 1970s when Ed Fenderson was the minister and he was an usher for 39 years while also being part of the annual Christmas Fair, the Saturday night suppers, and the organizer of the church’s summer outings to the Portland Sea Dogs.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 4 from 3-7 p.m. at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. The funeral service will be at our church on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ruth Morrison.
