Training session July 26

Our church’s first week to host families in the Greater Portland Family Promise mission will be Aug. 13-20.

We will need many volunteers throughout the week for approximately 90-minute shifts, but before anyone can volunteer, they must go through a training program that will fully explain how we will work with the families in a way that is consistent with how other faith communities are working with homeless families with children.

The training program for our church will be Wednesday, July 26 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the church. Please plan to attend. Even if you will not be volunteering for the Aug. 13-20 week, you will need the training to make yourself available for future weeks.

We will host Family Promise families four times a year and in addition to volunteers from our church, there will be volunteers from St. Bartholomew’s and St. Alban’s for each of the host weeks.
